LEARNING SPACES
Agastya International Foundation is a transformative educational organization, actively spreading hands-on learning. This project helped move a step closer to enhancing the learning atmosphere at the Physics Lab for the children.

Lack of a designated learning/teaching space
Cluttered and hard to access the storage area placed behind the blackboard
Dull display and lacking visual curiosity
The lab initially lacked categorization and was disorganized. The storage area merged into the classroom space. The models, arranged along the periphery of the room, marked a strong divide between the inside and the outside. The space was raw, lifeless and lacked appeal and thus, wasn’t very inviting to its audience.

Recognizing zones was critical to creating a distinguished boundary between the storage, display area, and the teaching/learning area. This ensured an uninterrupted learning space.

~ The storage was common for the class adjacent to the physics lab
~ It constantly needed to be accessed by the teachers
~ Contained glass and other fragile equipment with no clear categorisation
A
B
This placement resulted in an increase in accessibility without any distractions as the class faced the opposite direction
Moving the storage units form point A to B increased the light flowing in as the window was no more blocked

Using illustrations to add visual interest and curiosity to the room
A color pallet derived from the colors of the models to build the visual language of the space

Shelves were incorporated such that it helps bind the models and the illustrations together
